A delegation from the University of Lancashire recently visited the University of Sanya. The main goal of this visit was to prepare for the new academic year's enrollment campaign. The delegation toured the University's facilities and explored its distinctive educational models, gaining valuable insights into USY’s academic strengths and commitment to student development. The visit lays a solid foundation for further collaboration between the two institutions in Sino-foreign cooperative education.
From well-equipped smart classrooms to advanced training platforms, from the scenic campus to the all-round student services—the delegation observed every detail with interest and care for future students of the Geely-University of Lancashire Joint Industrial Institute, University of Sanya. Their close attention reflected a shared goal: to deliver a learning and living experience that is secure, high-quality, and globally minded, long before prospective students set foot on campus. All of this is designed to help students choose with confidence and study with assurance.
During the visit, the two institutions held in-depth discussions on five cooperative programs—Vehicle Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, Software Engineering, Marketing, and Health Service and Management. The talks focused on core areas such as industry-education integration, real-world project-based learning, and talent cultivation, all aimed at making the cooperative programs more responsive to student needs and industry trends.
Ms. Sarah Priestley, deputy head of International Partnership of the University of Lancashire, spoke highly of USY's comprehensive student services, picturesque campus, and well-equipped facilities. She described USY as an ideal environment for students to grow and thrive.
Prof. Chai Yong, Vice President of the University of Sanya, emphasized that the visit was not only a reaffirmation of the University's academic strength, but also a promise to every future student. "Our collaboration with the University of Lancashire is more than just an increase in the number of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs within the University—it's a genuine commitment to sharing resources and enhancing academic quality, all in order to provide students with a stronger platform for development," he said.
Looking ahead, the two universities will continue to deepen their partnership, opening up more high-quality international courses, overseas exchange opportunities, internship placements with leading companies, and pathways for further study. Every student enrolled in the Sino-foreign cooperative programs at the University of Sanya will have the chance to learn in an international classroom, surrounded by the beauty of a coastal campus, study at a first-class university, and grow into outstanding talents with global competitiveness.
