The 2025 Annual Conference of Boao Forum for Asia concluded successfully in Boao, Hainan on March 28, 2025. Themed as "Forging Asia's Future in a Changing Global Landscape," the forum gathered nearly 2,000 participants across government, business, and academia from over 60 countries and regions to explore collaborative development strategies amid global transformations. The meticulously prepared welcome banquet, adhering to state banquet standards, drew widespread acclaim. The centerpiece was an immersive scroll-inspired micro-landscape crafted by an interdisciplinary team from the School of Arts of University of Sanya. This cultural installation employed the innovative "dual-realm along one axis" spatial design philosophy, integrating Hainan's coastal-mountain ecosystems with its intangible cultural heritage. Serving as an artistic embodiment of the Free Trade Port's innovative ethos, the project exemplified the university's industry-education integration achievements.
Throughout the project's implementation, the faculty-student team from University of Sanya fully embraced the philosophy of industry-education integration through the application of classroom knowledge to practical application. Students leveraged principles of aesthetics to orchestrate the overall layout and visual effects. Applying their professional expertise, the students meticulously selected indigenous plant specimens to authentically recreate Hainan's distinctive ecosystems, showcasing the island's unique geographical character. To achieve optimal visual impact, the team demonstrated extraordinary ingenuity in material selection, with each element bearing distinct Hainan cultural imprints.
This feast of vision and culture not only highlighted University of Sanya’s success in industry-education integration but also exemplified its mission to cultivate globally minded talents through cross-border innovation.
