On June 28, 2019, Belgian expert Kristian Stefaan and other experts from foreign countries or Taiwan regions, engaged in medical, art, education and other industries，participated a symposium on the introduction of foreign (outside) talent resources which was hosted by Liu Cigui, secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee.
Liu Cigui, secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, listened extensively to the opinions of talent representatives from foreign (outside) and emphasized that Hainan's construction of a free trade pilot zone and a free trade port with Chinese characteristics is to attract and use the resources and talents of the world to serve the world. It is necessary to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping's "4·13", pay more attention to the introduction of foreign capital and "foreign wisdom", accelerate the cultivation and expansion of the industry, create a world-class business environment, attract talent resources from all over the world to start business in Hainan, and share the development opportunities and reform results of China.

The foreign talents at the symposium discussed the practical issues of green cards, foreign children's education, medical care, administrative efficiency, international direct flights, multilingual signs, and personal income tax. Our university's Belgian expert Kristian Stefaan expressed his high praise for the symposium. He also believed that when promoting the popularization of English education, it should also consider popularizing the Chinese education channels for foreigners and willing to contribute to the construction of Hainan.
