To start with, Vice President Che warmly welcomed the new international faculty for the new semester and also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the returning international faculty for their hard work and contributions to University of Sanya. She introduced the overall situation of USY as well as its featured majors and teaching programs. She added that USY has been short listed in China’s top 50 universities on graduate employability by the MoE in 2015. This year USY won again China’s top 50 universities on entrepreneurship and innovation, becoming one of the very few universities in China and the only one university in Hainan to get these two honors.

During the orientation, each foreign teacher shared their personal teaching and life experience. Meanwhile, foreign teachers brainstormed the teaching issues, such as how to keep students from speaking Chinese in foreign languages classes, striving to open up more possibilities in improving students’ foreign languages abilities and how to build up students’ confidence in class. Some foreign teachers further brought forward their personal suggestions in improving teaching and daily management. In the new semester, they would commit themselves to maintaining a harmonious and productive working environment and to make significant contributions to the development of University of Sanya.
