ACC Secretary-General Adhered to Vice President Che Yi's Work Report on International Cooperation & Exchange

On February 23, 2017, H. E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Mr. Dai Yuming, Vice Mayor of Sanya, and exchanged views on promoting practical cooperation between ASEAN and Sanya. Ms. Che Yi, Vice President of Sanya University(USY), Ms. Cao Yanwei, Vice Director of USY International Department and Mr. Yu Xuzhong, Adviser of USY International Cooperation & Exchange accompanied the meeting.

At the meeting, Vice President Che Yi introduced USY’s establishment and development status. She said that established in 2005, USY is the earliest and largest private university in Sanya. Taking the educational mission of “preparing students to be more valuable contributors for society in the future”, USY has cultivated a large number of applied talents with its characteristic specialties and majors on tropic, tourism and ocean, receiving widespread recognition and increasingly becoming an important human resource base in the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island. USY pays high attention to the international exchange and cooperation, and expects to build close cooperative relationships with more universities of ASEAN countries and constantly improve its international level through Silk Road Business School which was co-established with International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission. USY expects the continuous support and assistance from ACC.

 

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping introduced ACC’s duties and work on education field. She said that ACC has always put education as the priority area and fully played its role as a bridge builder in building up platforms and networks to promote bilateral educational exchange and cooperation by working closely with governments, regional cooperative partners and educational organizations. ACC is committed to continuously exert its efforts and actively assist USY in exchange and cooperation with universities of ASEAN countries, aiming to strengthen mutual learning, achieve common development, and make greater contributions to ASEAN-China educational cooperation and cultural exchange.
