Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Delegation Visited Sanya University for Collaborative Programs

On December 16, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (AKNPU) delegation visited Sanya University (SU). After detailed discussion on the collaborative domains and cooperative patterns, both universities signed bilateral agreements to open a new chapter on educational cooperation at the Conference Room of Shushan Hall. Guests and SU senior management members presenting the meeting are Kulsariyeva Aktolkyn, Vice President of AKNPU; Kaimuldinova Kulyash, Dean of School of Natural Science & Geography of AKNPU; Orazakynkyzy Farida, Head of International communication and Chinese Teaching; Zhanbekov Khairulla, Head of Preparatory Department, School of Humanities & Linguistics; Prof. Lu Dan, President of SU; Zoe Che, Vice President of SU; Yu Xuzhong, Advisor of International Cooperation and Exchange and heads from related schools.

Prof. Lu Dan, on behalf of Sanya University, expressed warm welcome to the visiting guest at the meeting and also expected more cooperation to be implemented between the two universities. He said that China is next to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Both countries have established solid strategic partnership relationship and come to the mutual trust in politics from a very early period in history by frequent economic trade and exchange and educational collaborations. He added that with the national initiative of “One Belt and One Road”, the Sino-Kazakhstan exchange has reached to a broad and promising future and also provide new opportunities for the collaborations of both universities. He wished that the exchange and cooperation between the two universities will create more benefits to the well-being of human development in education between the two countries.

Kulsariyeva Aktolkyn, Vice President of AKNPU, said that her colleagues and she were delighted to be invited to visit Sanya University. On behalf of AKNPU, she expressed the heartfelt appreciation to the delegation of SU for the warm hospitality and also introduced to the presenting members the history and discipline construction of AKNPU. Established in 1928, AKNPU is the first university in the Republic of Kazakhstan and it ranks the top one in pedagogical universities. Having fine educational tradition and keeping a rather high teaching level, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University opens 94 majors and specialties and courses are taught in English, Russian, French and German. Currently, the university has established collaborative partnership relationship with more than 100 universities and colleges in over 40 countries. She wished that the cooperation between AKNPU and SU will make more value to the coverall development for both universities and establish a long-term friendship partnership relationship.

During the meeting, Zoe Che, Vice President of SU introduced to the presenting guests Sanya University’s history and educational philosophy. By adhering to the educational mission that is to prepare students to be more valuable contributors for society in the future, the university today has initially formed a professional disciplinary system which is rather more reasonable, mutual support and coordinated in development since its establishment in 2005 and has widely accepted and gained good reputation from the society.

After the meeting, both universities signed the cooperative agreements for the exchange of pedagogical and professional staff and faculty members and students, joint scientific-research activities, participation in seminars, conferences and academic meetings and joint scientific publications. Furthermore, both sides also exchanged ideas on the co-establishment of the Silk Road Business School. Kulsariyeva Aktolkyn, Vice President of AKNPU, showed great interest in the cooperation and was willing to further discuss with their senior leaders and push forward to the implementation of programs after coming back to Kazakhstan.
